I thought it was just a dog figurine... but it was imbued with a story and the breath of art. This work was created by Joji Kodama of REPLAY LABO, who layered chance and sensibility one by one while dripping the excess resin from surfboard production. Although it is made from waste materials, the colors and flow possess a unique beauty, silently speaking of "regeneration" and "creation." The material is resin. The surface retains the traces of the dripping resin, a characteristic that gives it the feel of "unintentional art." Its appearance, which subtly changes depending on the light, enriches the space quietly, even though it is a figurine. Regarding the condition, it has been stored at my grandmother's house for many years, so there is some dust and signs of aging. I would be happy to pass it on to someone who appreciates it as a work of art. A quiet art piece at the boundary of reuse and creation. I hope it will gently accompany someone's everyday life.
