This is a clarinet from the French manufacturer Martin Frères, model 1740. I'm a complete beginner with clarinets and bought this for fun, but I haven't touched it recently. I was thinking of using it as interior decoration, but at the suggestion of a friend, I've decided to offer it to someone who will use it. It comes with the body, mouthpiece, ligature, cap, and case. It was produced between 1946 and the 1960s, making it over 60 years old. It seems that Nonaka Boeki, which used to handle Selmer, Conn, and Leblanc, imported and sold these in Japan. This particular instrument has been adjusted, and the previous owner hadn't used it for a long time. There are no noticeable dents or scratches on the body or keys. There is some slight wear on the plating of some keys due to age. After disassembly and inspection, the body and keys were cleaned, and all pads and corks were replaced. Blue steel key spring pins are used, and the inside of the upper joint is lined with a metal pipe (probably stainless steel). The pad sizes are smaller than current ones, and the key stroke is shorter, so the replacement and adjustment apparently took a lot of effort. Key oiling and adjustment were also done during assembly. It's in very good condition considering its age, with few scratches. A simple sound check was performed, but the included mouthpiece is old and makes it difficult to control the pitch. I'm barely a beginner myself, so I can't check the full scale. Please have the key and pad balance adjusted before using it. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about minor scratches or dirt, as it is an old instrument. Thank you for your understanding. Instant purchase is welcome. Feel free to ask any questions or negotiate the price. #clarinet #martin #vintage #wooden #overhauled #madeinfrance
