I'm not sure if I bought this then or in Japan, but I found it stored in a chest of drawers. In the past, colleagues would visit our home in Kyoto one after another (and we were invited to their homes in return), but now that we're seniors, our stamina... we only entertain very close friends. Back then (decades ago), I worried if they would like Japanese food, so I mainly served Western dishes like paella and quiche on large, blue-and-white porcelain plates, including rice cooked with butter. However, when a couple of old friends from Denmark visited recently for tourism, not work, they stayed in our detached guesthouse, and when I invited them over, I served a completely Japanese meal. Therefore, the table will be used less and less in our home from now on. While taking photos, I thought, "Isn't this suitable as a bed cover!" It's a sturdy, thick cotton fabric. If you use it as a tablecloth, it will be fine with some stains. (It's unused, so I haven't washed it, and the starch might come out and make it softer if washed.)
