It allows you to take more impressive photos by highlighting the subject in the center when shooting landscapes or portraits. It is especially effective for art pieces and advertising photos. Although it has only been used 2-3 times, it has been stored in a closet for over a decade, so there are scratches on the frame (photo 2), and what appears to be a smudge from a finger and visible debris on the lens (photo 3), and possibly fine scratches, mold, and clouding. As I didn't have any cleaning tools on hand, I haven't been able to fully assess the condition without wiping off the dirt. There is no blurring of the text. Please refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about the condition. This is a great opportunity for those who want to revive their equipment, are looking for this filter, or are collectors.
