It depicts the adventure and mystery-solving of a girl who hates books and a mysterious girl with dog ears, who join hands and journey through the world of books. Fuyuko Mikura, a high school student living in the town of Yomunagamachi, a town of books, is the daughter of a family that manages the giant library "Mikurakan" founded by her great-grandfather, but she couldn't bring herself to like books. One day, when a book was stolen from Mikurakan, Yomunagamachi is suddenly swallowed up by the world of stories. It was due to a curse placed on the books, the "Book Curse." To save the town, Fuyuko, along with Mashiro, a mysterious girl with dog ears, chases after the book thief and travels through the world of stories. In the process, Fuyuko gets closer to the truth of the curse and the secrets hidden in the Mikura family. Fuyuko is played by Rin Kataoka, who gained attention in the NHK serial TV novel "Toratsuba," marking her first voice acting role and first starring role in a film. Sora Tamaki, also making her voice acting debut, plays Mashiro, who leads Fuyuko into the world of books. The director is Daiki Fukuoka, who has worked on "Yuki Yuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter" and "Kami Kuzu Idol." The screenplay is by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, who worked on "Kaguya-sama: Love Is War" and "Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun." The music is by Michiru Oshima, who works widely from live-action to anime. The animation production is handled by the up-and-coming studio "Kagokan," which will be its first feature-length animated film.
