Natural whetstone, Nisshozan Tomae. The surface was prepared from the raw stone by myself. Please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection, as this is a DIY level job by an amateur. There are layer cracks and chips, so areas other than the whetting surface have been treated with cashew lacquer. This is a Tomae stone that produces a lot of mud and has high abrasive power. It is ideal for removing scratches from medium grit stones, and it will also give a beautiful, even haze when finishing the cutting edge. This whetstone is very easy to sharpen with, so it is also recommended for beginners. As it is a natural product, there may be streaks or areas that were not apparent during my test sharpening.
