Model Name: PARKAS MIDDLE WITHOUT HOOD *There is some minor soiling, but it is in good condition considering its age, with no repairs or holes. *Hood is not included. This is a "MIDDLE PARKA," a legendary item in British military history, inspired by the "M-51 PARKA," a U.S. military mod coat famous for being used during the Korean War in the 1950s. This is the late model of the 3rd model, which was created in 1953, featuring four front pockets, a detachable hood, and made of cotton satin. The front can be opened and closed with a zipper and buttons. The four pockets have button-closure flaps, and the left chest pocket has a pen holder. Raglan sleeves are used, and the design allows for easy movement of the shoulders and arms with a beautiful drape. The middle parka, designed to be worn over a field jacket called a combat smock, is a cold-weather specification. It features a heavy cotton satin outer fabric with fading and wear, and a thick boa lining on the inside. The cuffs have ribbed inner cuffs for high cold protection.
