There are no instructions, but I've quoted a helpful comment from an Amazon review for the "Hario E-Style Rice Cooker for 1 cup XRCN-1WES": 1. Put 1 cup of rice in the container and add water up to the water level line, then soak for 30 minutes or more. 2. Microwave at "600W" for 6 minutes, then immediately at "200W" for 15 minutes. 3. Once heating is complete, take it out immediately and mix the cooked rice with a rice scoop, as if cutting the rice, to swap the top and bottom layers. 4. Place a towel between the lid and the container and let it steam. (Time is approximate) Everything in the photos is included.
