CLUNY Old Saint Louis Crystal Cluny 24K Gold Gilt Wine Glass, 1 piece I am offering a beautiful antique Saint Louis Cluny wine glass. The Cluny, produced since 1889, takes its name from the Cluny Abbey in Burgundy, France. This is a classic Venetian style, with the bowl and stem made by connecting two blown glass pieces. The stem is hollow, and the 24K gold gilt decoration evokes the good old days of Art Nouveau design, making it a masterpiece. Of particular note is the vertical ribbed decoration, "côtes vénitiennes," applied to the inside of the bowl. This piece is particularly beautiful compared to other Cluny pieces, with its finer ripples catching the light and shimmering, creating delicate shadows that further enhance its splendor and elegance. This is a rare piece from before the Saint-Louis mark was used, and the thick application of 24K gold gilt gives it a more noble and refined impression.
