The Nikkan No.2A model (the predecessor of Yamaha) is said to have been designed in the 1960s, modeled after the C.G. CONN 22B NY Symphony, which was used by many professional players in American symphony orchestras. Like the NY Symphony, all parts are made of yellow brass. Currently, only Yamaha's high-end models such as the YTR-8330EM use all yellow brass, making it a luxurious material composition. Each trumpet is handmade by craftsmen, so each one is unique. The body is MS bore with a yellow brass bell and lacquer finish. It uses an MS (medium-small) bore, which is extremely difficult to obtain in modern piston valve type trumpets that are not available in current YAMAHA models, and is still popular among many fans. The MS bore (narrow bore) is characterized by its ability to be played with less breath, making it easy to play and producing a clear sound. It is designed to allow air to pass through easily and produce sound, so it is also recommended for beginners. We have confirmed that it can be played smoothly from the low register to the high register. It has a bright and clear tone. We have confirmed the sound from low A♭ to high C two octaves above. Tuning is possible with the main tuning slide. All slides can be removed. The second piston finger button was lost, so a substitute is installed. There are minor scratches, peeling of the plating, and rust, but it can be said that it is in relatively good condition for its age.
