They are attractive for their light and airy feel, as they are made without lining. They are perfect as a transitional garment when it's too hot for a lined kimono but the thin summer fabrics aren't quite right, or as a lifesaver when you're unsure what to wear due to fluctuating temperatures. It's a good idea to have one on hand throughout the year. There is some slight tarnishing of the gold leaf in places, but more than that, the adorable creatures are so captivating... And what's more, this is "unworn," having only been put on once for photography! Made of soft "silk" material that feels gentle against the skin, it drapes beautifully and is easy to move in thanks to the "hand-sewn tailoring," with snap closures. It covers the transparency of the undergarments, prevents sweat and other stains from directly touching the kimono, and reduces stress on the seams and fabric around the hips, with a "ishiki-ate" (seat panel) to make the back look beautiful.
