This is a Kutani-yaki gourd-shaped tokkuri (sake bottle). It features bamboo, which symbolizes vitality, and sparrows, which represent prosperity of descendants and abundant harvests. The combination of these two, "bamboo and sparrows," has been a popular auspicious pattern since ancient times. It's considered lucky, so I had it on display, but I no longer have space for it, so I'm offering it to someone who will use it. Of course, it can be used practically as a sake bottle. It's an old item, so there are some minor scratches. There are no cracks or chips. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned.
