A very old three-piece frock coat, likely from the late Edo period/Meiji era. This item was discovered in a very old domestic warehouse where pre-war items were found in abundance. Although there are no tags from a clothing store, it is believed to be of domestic origin. Compared to pre-war formal wear from the early Showa era, it has a simpler and unfamiliar construction, such as the absence of lining, leading me to believe it is from the Meiji era. However, due to its extreme age, there is a possibility it could be from the late Edo period. The trousers also lack belt loops and are designed to be tied with a sash like a kimono, making them very rare. I have been collecting this item as I believe it is historically valuable, but it is not my personal style. Therefore, I am offering it to someone who appreciates this era. As shown in images 6 and 7, there are tears in the sash and repair marks on the crotch. There are no major tears or moth-eaten holes, and I believe it can be worn without issue, but there may be oversights.
