This is an Old Mine Duanxi Water Rock Inkstone as you can see. Regarding this inkstone, it is a New Duanxi Old Mine, but the stone quality is so superb that it surpasses the Old Mine, with exquisite fineness and the sharpness of the ink-grinding surface (houbou). Rare Fish Team Qinghua can be seen on the ink surface. This is the last and best practical inkstone from the New Duanxi Old Mine. A document of origin is pasted on the back of the wooden box, and it was traded about 50 years ago at a workshop sale by Mr. Mei Shushi (1916-2008). The value of this inkstone is being handled at a very exceptional price. Like all of them, this is something I have cherished especially within my collection.
