● Masterpiece, Five-Tiered Jubako (Nested Food Box) with Flowing Water, Maple and Autumn Leaves Maki-e, Antique, Wooden Lacquerware, Beautiful Condition, Meiji/Taisho Era, From a Prestigious Family's Collection, Yellow Cloth and Box Included, Approximately 38cm in Height (Single) This lacquerware is not commonly found in ordinary old houses, suggesting it belonged to a family of high standing. The design features a refined and modern flowing water, maple, and autumn leaves motif, a simple yet very elegant maki-e (sprinkled picture) design. Although it should be over 100 years old, it is in excellent condition with almost no damage. There is a repair mark on the corner of the bottom of the third tier, as indicated by the circle in the photo. Also, areas where the gold trim had faded have been repainted. This is a masterpiece, a classic-sized, imposing five-tiered jubako from the past, which will enhance the presentation of New Year's osechi (traditional New Year's food). The outer box also has some soiling and signs of use, but it is sturdy. It has been polished and finished for sale. Please refer to the scale in the photos for the size.
