There are some minor scratches only where the endpin is inserted, but no other noticeable damage. The length is adjustable. By hooking the ring onto the leg of your chair and inserting the endpin into the Y-shaped part, it won't slip. This allows for stable seated playing and good posture. For all double bass players out there who are seeking an endpin anchor strap, I’ve barely used this after I bought it in Italy many years ago, and I’ve held onto it since. Since I don’t have a chance to use it, it needs a new home. To use it, the leg of the chair you sit on will go into the ring, and the pin goes into the arrow shaped bit.
