This appears to be from the Meiji era, a wooden Buddhist altar cabinet that has aged gracefully. It shows wear and tear commensurate with its age, but it's still in good condition. The door is a fitted type. I suspect it was used as a household Shinto shrine. It would be wonderful if it could be used to enshrine precious amulets.
