To coincide with the first anniversary of his death, works written before he moved to Tokyo were selected and included from his remaining works. The manuscripts of the short and medium-length stories, with their corners neatly aligned and tightly bound with twisted Japanese paper, had been quietly resting in a corner of his study for nearly 30 years. Through the works in this book, when the pure and beautiful heart he left behind touches the hearts of those reading it for the first time, or again, I sincerely hope that the lingering image of his youthful soul will gently flicker, and at the same time, his true form will revive as a real image.
