This piece is made with highly transparent crystal, overlaid with gold-red (ruby-colored) rose crystal, colored using 99.9% pure gold oxide. The "acid-etching" technique, which involves etching the surface with acid to create a textured effect, was used to finish the piece. Fine patterns were carved into the clear crystal using thin needles, a highly skilled and labor-intensive technique unique to the time. The deep etching leaves a jagged sensation on the fingertips, giving it a powerful presence characteristic of antiques. The color features a beautiful gradation, lighter at the top and deepening towards the bottom, reflecting light warmly and gently like stained glass when illuminated. It is an antique glass that combines practicality and artistry, suitable for use as a glass or as an interior decoration piece for holding paper napkins or flowers.
