Thank you for viewing. Greg Black trumpet mouthpiece, Special 11/2C. Greg Black, an American brass instrument mouthpiece workshop, is supported by brass players around the world. Despite still being manufactured today, there is arguably no other mouthpiece that has become so legendary. To maintain an extremely high level of perfection in terms of playing feel, they never rush into mass production, and it is known as a very difficult-to-obtain mouthpiece. This mouthpiece, "SPECIAL," is a re-creation of a custom-made model that was once distributed in Japan as the "NY (New York) model." It incorporates the taste of BACH. Greg Black mouthpieces are generally designed with a slightly thicker shank and a slightly longer overall length compared to BACH and SCHILKE mouthpieces. In contrast, this "SPECIAL" is designed with the rim shape, backbore, overall length, and shank based on BACH mouthpieces. Therefore, it has a slightly thinner shank and a slightly shorter design than Greg Black's standard mouthpieces. The external shape has the regular weight taste of the company's mouthpieces on the upper part of the mouthpiece (outer rim), and the light weight taste on the outer cup wall, resulting in a hybrid custom shape that is in between the two. It is easy to transition to for those who use general mouthpieces, and it is also a mouthpiece that we would like those who already love Greg Black mouthpieces to try.
