This is a mizusashi (water container) consisting of a glass body and a black lacquered lid, purchased previously from an antique dealer. I believe it could also be used as an ice bucket. At the time of purchase, I was told it was Kurashiki glass, but it is unclear whether it is by Mr. Otani. In any case, I believe it is an excellent piece, made with great care down to the edges of the lid. Please purchase only if you understand antique and vintage items.
