This is a handmade tenugui (Japanese hand towel) hat. It prevents your hair from falling out while you're cooking. I use one every day myself, and it's super convenient – just put it on and tie it in the back. You can wash it daily for cleanliness. Since it's made of tenugui, it dries quickly too!
