This is a miniature of the "Shikinen Sengu Okihikisha" (sacred wood-pulling cart) used in the 62nd Shikinen Sengu of Ise Jingu Shrine. ⭐︎Size: 34 x 14 cm, H 17 cm ⭐︎Weight: 455g The Shikinen Sengu is the most important festival of Ise Jingu Shrine, where the main sanctuary and furnishings are rebuilt every 20 years. The Okihiki ceremony involves people pulling the sacred timber for the construction of the sanctuary on the Hōeisha (pulling carts), and it takes place seven and six years before the Sengu. The wheels and wooden plaques placed on the Hōeisha bear the character "Taiichi" as a mark of the shrine. (My father purchased this during his participation in the ceremony and kept it in its box. He said it was very auspicious, and the box is labeled "Omamori" [amulet].)
