This is a lined kimono perfect for the months of October to early May, made of genuine silk. It is meticulously hand-sewn. The base color is dark navy, with Kikko (tortoise shell), cross kasuri, and Igeta kasuri patterns woven in white, red, green, and yellow. The lining (hakkake) is vermilion. The nostalgic atmosphere and the color scheme, which doesn't easily show dirt, make it perfect for everyday wear. It would also fit in well during spring, autumn, and winter trips, in natural settings, rural landscapes, temples and shrines, and historical tourist spots. In addition, it's a wonderful and versatile piece for outings, theater visits, museums, New Year's gatherings, first shrine visits of the year, meals with friends, and even casual dinners at izakayas (Japanese pubs). Although it has a simple color and pattern, it has the beautiful luster unique to genuine silk tsumugi, and the fabric has a firmness that gives a sense of high quality. Personally, I'd like to wear this kimono with a hanhaba obi (half-width belt) for housework at the end of the year, and then change to a Nagoya obi (formal obi) for the first shrine visit of the New Year. It is an unworn item with some of the original stitching remaining, and the lining, outer fabric, hakkake, collar, and cuffs are all clean with no stains or dirt. There is also no yellowing.
