This item was purchased when the consumption tax was 5%. This kana brush is a refined brush supervised by the late Mr. Kichinan Tanibe, a renowned Nitten artist and former professor at the old Nara University of Education, who was active in Kyoto in the 1960s (Showa 40s). It was made by Hakubundo, a top brush maker in Nara. The seal was written by the teacher. I believe it is no longer being produced. The tip is made of high-quality weasel hair. It is ideal for copying the Manyoshu and ancient kana scripts. The handle is 22cm long, and the brush tip is 2.5cm long. The seal is slightly stained due to age.
