This is a red chisel (for carving) for engraving, with a single-sided cut and a blade width of 2.4mm. This chisel is for carving crescent-shaped marks. Please refer to image 4. This is a formed and polished commercially available red chisel. It has been hardened and tempered. It has a slight R (curve), making it suitable for curved carving. ★ While you can carve straight lines with a chisel for curves, it is difficult to carve curves beautifully with a straight-line chisel that does not have an R. You can use it as is, but the blade edge will become dull and difficult to carve with use.
