Based on the novel "Nanso Satomi Hakkenden" by Futaro Yamada, this live-action film is directed by Fumihiko Sori, known for "Ping Pong." The story depicts the world of the narrative, where eight swordsmen guided by fate engage in battle, intertwined with the world of Takizawa Bakin, a writer in the Edo period who is passionately devoted to writing the story. Koji Yakusho, known for "Perfect Days," plays Bakin, and Seiyo Uchino, known for "Shunga Sensei," plays the artist Katsushika Hokusai, who watches over him. Tao Tsuchiya, Hayato Isomura, Hana Kuroki, Shinobu Terajima, and Keisuke Watanabe also star in the film.
