This kimono was custom-made by my mother at a special exhibition of a long-established Kyoto kimono shop, held for an event commemorating the thousands of years since the capital moved to Kyoto. There is no fading, and the sturdy silk fabric with a textured pattern is dyed in a yamabuki (golden yellow) color. The entire design features hand-painted images of princesses and members of the Imperial Court, with a vibrant orange color. It has a very unique design, and I think it would be considered a hobby kimono. Because it is a good quality item, the sleeves were made a little longer for a more fashionable look. I have put it up for sale, thinking that someone might like the colors and design. Each individual picture looks cute. I think it will be easy to match with an obi.
