It's a rare early sunburst model from the L series. ★ A miraculously beautiful and rare piece. Spruce top, coral rosewood sides & back, original Yamaha tuners. The L-5S features a striking wood grain reminiscent of Jacaranda. The powerful back and sides are a treat for acoustic guitar fans – simply stunning. As expected from YAMAHA at the time, the fretboard and neck are well-crafted. The spruce wood grain is also of very high quality. It has a luxurious binding. Being a model that didn't cut costs, it resonates powerfully. The tuners are also a high-grade YAMAHA logo, smooth and stable. The action is quite low, around 2.5mm at the 12th fret, making it easy to play. The neck is also in good condition. Adjusted with the truss rod, etc. Truss rod has room both ways (slightly adjusted towards tightening). No bridge lift. Saddle still has room. Frets and fretboard polished with orange oil. Body waxed. There are some minor scratches and dents, but they add character. It's in remarkably good condition for its age.
