The inside is coated with genuine lacquer, and ebony is attached to the head. The mouthpiece and finger holes are relatively small, making it easy to play for beginners, intermediate players, and women. I highly recommend it. It is unused, so there are no noticeable scratches or cracks, and there is no looseness or bending in the rattan wrapping at the top and bottom. (There are some natural patterns inherent to the bamboo.)
