Thank you for viewing. This is the Zapper, the original model for the Splatoon N-Zap. I played it using my New Famicom (NES) console. It responded, but I didn't use it with a CRT television, so I can't say for sure. When I pulled the trigger, it reacted like the A button on the controller. I don't know about infrared rays, etc. I think it can be used with the original Famicom if you use a converter. Perfect for your collection! Thank you.
