Purchased at a kimono shop. I believe it's hand-sewn. It still has the basting threads attached. Brand new, unused. I believe it's a winter coat (haori) for a woman's formal visiting kimono (houmongi). The exquisite color combination of chic crimson and black is very lovely. The chest has dot buttons in a very careful position, so it won't lose its shape. It looks like a covered button. The haori is a jet-black, cool haori. It has pictures of clamshells, treasure boxes, fans, and ribbons. It's a very elegant pattern. I think it's a wonderful piece. It's a vintage item from the Showa era.
