I've been using this for a long time. There's a small chip on the upper handle when you open it. Overall, there's a used feeling. I've cleaned off any removable dirt as much as possible. I tried to clean it every time I used it. As mentioned above, there are some scratches, but it makes waffles and hot sandwiches beautifully. The hot sandwich plate is almost unused, so it's clean.
