The first issue of "Monthly Pia," launched in July 1972 (August 1972 issue), holds rare value as a pioneer of entertainment information magazines in Japan. It was a B5-size, 26-page publication created by Hiroshi Yanai (founder of Pia), who was a university student at the time in 1972.
