Purchased by my grandmother during her travels in the Rajasthan region of India in the 1970s. At that time, Rajasthan was not yet as industrialized in tourism as it is today, and traditional woodblock printing workshops were still functioning daily outside of urban areas. Remnants from when it was made into curtains and cloth in the 1990s, when the house was newly built. This textile has layers of time. It's not just "dead stock." The lineage of the floral arabesque patterns developed during the Mughal Empire. Multi-color printing by hand-carved woodblocks.
