This is a 1982 Fender Japan Stratocaster ST57, the first year of production. I am selling it to organize my equipment. I don't know the market price, so I will gradually lower the price. The serial number is JV01×××. Based on the neck markings, it appears to be from May of the same year. The pickups are Fender USA made (as they were at the time of release). The switch has been replaced with a Fender USA genuine product, and the springs have been replaced with RAW Vintage ones. I am an amateur, so the following is for reference only. The neck is almost straight. The truss rod has room on both sides. The frets have about 40-50% life remaining. They have been leveled and used, so there is no extreme wear in any one area, and they should be playable for a while. The nut is worn, and the open strings sound dull when the string height is set high (especially the 2nd string). The maple fingerboard is thin, making it easy to play even for those with small hands. It is lightweight and has a well-defined sound, making it great for cutting. I also own an ST62 with a rosewood fingerboard from the same year, but the one for sale is noticeably lighter and has a more mid-to-high frequency sound. A spacer is used on the 1st and 2nd strings to reduce tension. There are many paint chips, scratches, and dents from use. It will be shipped in an old Pearl musical instrument hard case.
