I made a long skirt by unraveling a Meisen kimono. There are areas where I sewed to adjust the length (Photo 12, center). There are some areas that I was concerned about due to needle marks, so I reinforced them with interfacing (Photos 13 and 14). Please check them. Therefore, I am selling this skirt at a lower price than skirt 188. The original kimono was in very beautiful condition, with the basting threads still attached (Photos 15-18). Meisen may fade when washed with water, so I only disinfected it with a high-temperature iron. Under natural light, it has a slightly bluish-black base with a fine red checkered pattern. It's a simple color and pattern that goes with any top, and it has a traditional atmosphere. It has a firm thickness, and the luster and firmness characteristic of Meisen are wonderful. I put three long tucks in the front and back to reduce the volume. Although there is plenty of gathering, thanks to the tucks, the waist and hips look neat. I enjoy sewing specializing in straight stitching. I remake old kimonos, such as Tsumugi, Meisen, and Komon, as well as obi and furoshiki. Please consider this if you understand that there may be remaining threads, small holes, stains from used items, distortions, double stitching, etc. ✳︎Please avoid washing as much as possible, and after wearing, hang it on a hanger and let it breathe. ✳︎Items other than the skirt are for photography purposes. ✳︎There is no lining.
