This is an old Imari, a large dish with sometsuke (blue and white) decoration. I bought it a long time ago, intending to display it because it depicts the first sunrise of the year, or simply a sunrise, which is unusual. The painting is rare, and it was expensive. There are a few hairline cracks and scratches on the back from the time of purchase, but I don't think they are visible from the front. (See the last photo) I bought it with the description of "old Imari sometsuke," but it's unclear whether it dates from the end of the Edo period or the Meiji era. Considering this, and the condition mentioned above, I've priced it at a bargain. It has a unique design and is highly recommended, but please only purchase if you are not concerned about the above-mentioned points. Diameter: Approximately 29cm
