Thank you for viewing! This is a set of two Hasami-yaki Mimine Kiln Kurawanka bowls with a Hasami Nordic flower pattern. Size: Approximately 12.5 cm in diameter x 7.5 cm in height *Please forgive any slight size discrepancies due to amateur inspection. These are Kurawanka bowls from Hasami-yaki, known for being sold at MUJI. They are derived from the "Kurawanka boats" used for meals on ships during the Edo period. The low center of gravity and sturdy shape are designed to provide stability even on a rocking boat. Made in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, these bowls are appealing for their simple, warm texture and comfortable form. The white base features a traditional indigo pattern resembling Nordic flower motifs, making them suitable for both Japanese and Western cuisine. (See the last photo for a reference product) Regarding the condition, there are no chips or cracks, and the bowls have a glossy finish and are in relatively good condition. There is a stain on the outside of the bowls from the glaze during manufacturing (see photo 6). These are pre-owned items stored at home, so please understand this before purchasing, especially if you are a pottery enthusiast. As there is no original box, I will carefully package and ship them.
