D'Angelico EXCEL 59 VNT NT This is the Excel 59, a full-acoustic guitar based on the design created by John D'Angelico in 1959, featuring a 16-inch body and an original single-cutaway hollow body, updated with modern specifications. The color name is Vintage Natural (VNT NT). Made in 2020, the manufacturer's suggested retail price when new was 382,800 yen (for reference). I purchased it as a used, excellent condition item from a major guitar shop in 2024. The top is spruce, the back and sides are flame maple, the neck is maple, the fingerboard is ebony, and it is equipped with two Seymour Duncan D'Angelico Great Dane P-90 pickups. It has a 16-inch (406.4mm) width, a 1.75-inch (44.45mm) thick thin body, and an original single-cutaway hollow body. The nut width is 43mm, and the neck shape is a thin C-shape, making it easy to grip. The weight is 3.23kg. With block inlays on the fingerboard and gold hardware, it has an overall elegant finish, and I think it's a guitar that's enjoyable just to look at. The neck is generally straight and the truss rod is functioning. The frets have more than 90% remaining. The sound has a good response and I think it resonates with a reverb-like sound. It is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches and almost no signs of use, but as it is a used item, there may be some age-related scratches and dirt. Please note that there are reflections and glare in the photos, but these are not scratches. It comes with the original hard case, and I will include the documents from the manufacturer and Kanda Shokai (the distributor) that the previous owner received when they purchased it new.
