[Product Description] The 300X Shinkansen, also known as the Shinkansen 955 form, is a high-speed test train manufactured in 1995 (Heisei 7) by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) to experiment with next-generation Shinkansen-related technologies following the 300 series. As this is a discontinued product, it is difficult to obtain. This high-speed test Shinkansen train, manufactured by JR Central, achieved Japan's fastest rail speed record (excluding maglev) of 443 km/h. The lead car had a cusp type and a round wedge type to reduce air resistance. The shapes differed during test runs, and the lead cars were swapped for testing. Currently, the round wedge type lead car is preserved at the SCMaglev and Railway Park in Nagoya City, and the cusp type lead car is preserved at the Railway Technical Research Institute in Maibara City.
