The small "e" appeared around 1972, so this denim was only produced for a very short period of less than a year. The size is also a golden size, and although there are slight scuffs, it is almost undamaged. The color is still dark, and I think it's a perfect piece. The fabric texture, with the dark indigo and vertical fading unique to this era, similar to the 66 pre-505 Big E, can only be experienced in the 517s produced around this time. Yellow stitching is also used near the coin pocket. The silhouette of the early 517 is a gentle bootcut, close to straight.
