Tetsuya Otani, Otani Pottery Flat Pot Size: φ20cm "Otani Pottery" is a workshop run by Tetsuya Otani and his wife Momoko, who are both ceramic artists, in Shigaraki, Shiga Prefecture, an area that has long prospered in the pottery industry. This "Flat Pot" was developed by the husband-and-wife ceramic artists, who are highly regarded both in Japan and abroad, to create a donabe (earthenware pot) that fits modern lifestyles. It's a shallow type with a taper (a slope that narrows towards the bottom) to help with easy removal of tarts, pie crusts, and other baked goods. It's also highly functional, compatible with direct fire, ovens, and microwaves, and can be stacked for storage. The extremely simple design, without handles or a lid, allows you to serve food directly in the pot after cooking, while it's still hot. It's a next-generation donabe with a variety of uses. This is a pot with a smooth texture from before. I have used it a few times, but I am selling it because I don't use it often. There are no chips or cracks, but it is a used item, so please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about minor details.
