This Summarit was born from the Xenon technology provided by Schneider as a high-speed lens for the Leica Ⅲ. This is an important lens that connects to the Summilux, which followed in the lineage of large-aperture lenses. It's a bit surprising and interesting to think that Leica couldn't make bright lenses at the time. The main feature is its brightness of 50mm f1.5. This brightness was in the category of special lenses when it was released right after the war. It depicts very soft images at the widest aperture, and you can feel the characteristics of an old lens as it becomes sharper when stopped down. It is sensitive to light and not easy to handle. I have prepared some sample photos taken with this lens. I've handled this lens again after a long time, and the large bokeh that makes even distant subjects stand out is amazing. The rainbow-colored circle ghosting in backlight is beautiful, and I ended up taking too many photos because it was so interesting. It has a soft feel at the widest aperture, and when stopped down by two stops, the resolution visibly increases, and you can even feel the sharpness. I highly recommend experiencing its performance in the light like a fairy. This lens has recently been re-polished and overhauled by Yamazaki Optical Laboratory. It takes time and effort to finish, and it takes six months to a year, as well as the cost. The front element is perfectly polished, and there is a slight haze that is not visible in normal light, but I think it will not affect the test shooting.
