In June 2005, the four members of Sonic Youth performed at an art rock festival in France, split into two groups of two: MIRROR/DASH (Thurston Moore & Kim Gordon) and TEXT OF LIGHT (Lee Ranaldo & Steve Shelley). Their performances were more experimental, avant-garde, and freaky than usual! The direction of the entire festival, including their intense acts, was entrusted to the up-and-coming film director Olivier Assayas, who had entrusted Sonic Youth with the music for his film *Demonlover* and had used their music in his films many times in the past. The intimate and powerful visuals capturing the stage go beyond the typical live documentary, revealing the "source of their sound" – NOISE! It's truly a "movie that sees sound"! In addition to Sonic Youth, the film features artists associated with Assayas, such as actress and singer Jeanne Balibar, and Metric, the "Sonic Youth of Canada."
