I bought it as a mother's bag, but I mostly used a backpack, so it's unused. There are no outer pockets, but it's very convenient because you can tuck in outerwear or stoles on the side straps of the main body. (For reference, the 5th photo shows a child's jacket tucked in.) The main compartment has a zipper closure, and the sides have snap button closures. Inside the main compartment, there is one zippered pocket and three open pockets (large, medium, and small), and a drawstring bag is also included. (In the 4th image, I've put a pocket tissue in the pockets to show their size.) The main body color is black, but the lining is brown and the handles are gray, which are calm colors that don't show dirt easily.
