(＠＾＾＠) This is a second remake of Makino's breakthrough work, "Ronin-gai / Episode 1: Beautiful Prey" (1928) (the first was "Yoidore Hachimanki" in 1951). It was created by Makino himself and Motosaburo Murakami, who was also a disciple of Shin Hasegawa, adding to Itaro Yamagami's original scenario. Ronin wander the streets of Asakusa in the mid-Edo period. Gen'nai Aramaki is one of them, and he spends his days in dissipation, having his wife, Oshin, pickpocket. Meanwhile, Yagoemon Akagyu is hired for money and is after Gen'nai's dagger. Oshin is kidnapped by a villainous hatamoto, and the two join forces to rescue her...
