With my regular irons, the shafts are too stiff and I can't feel the "flex." With flex irons, you can master a swing that maximizes the shaft's flex, allowing the clubhead to run and increase distance. The first photo shows the shaft bent by hand. Normally, it's straight. After practicing with this, I was able to increase my distance from 135 yards with a 7-iron to 155 yards.
