When you search for this horse figurine using AI, it's identified as a traditional local toy called Miharu-koma (Miharu horses) from Fukushima Prefecture. Similar to the "Akabeko" (red cow) of the Aizu region, it's a papier-mâché horse figurine with a wobbly head, known as a lucky charm to ward off evil and pray for children's growth. AI also sometimes identifies it as Iwate Prefecture's Chaguchagu Umako, but both are local toys shaped like horses and are cherished as good luck charms. It seems to be in relatively good condition considering the time that has passed since purchase, but the green lines of the face harness (omogai) and the mouth ring have slightly changed color, possibly due to mixing with the underlying red paint.
