While 0.022μF (223) is the default value for humbucker-equipped guitars like Les Pauls, these capacitors can also be used with single-coil guitars like Stratocasters and Telecasters. They won't sound muddy like a typical 0.047μF (473) capacitor, and they provide a usable tone even when the tone control is rolled off.
